We are responsible for the administration and analysis of district selected and state mandated assessments. The information that is obtained from these assessments is used by teachers, administrators, and parents to help them better understand how students in Richfield are learning important skills in Reading, Mathematics and Writing.

Richfield Public Schools intends that our Assessment and Evaluation Program be a planned process that uses evidence of students’ achievement status to provide instructional programming, procedures or placement for students in accordance with their demonstrated academic needs. As part of this process, our group facilitates a two-day Data Retreat every summer and an annual Assessment & Evaluation Advisory Committee meeting that includes teachers, administrators, specialists, and technology staff.
Minnesota requires that each school district has an assessment and evaluation program, which is audited and reported biannually. Richfield Public Schools Assessment and Evaluation Program is developed through a collaborative process, which includes teachers, counselors, school psychologists, test coordinators and administrators. The program is designed to gather, store, analyze, report and use evidence of students’ achievement status to provide instructional programming, including placement for students in accordance with their demonstrated academic needs.
