The Color Project
The Color Project

Sheridan Hills students and staff recently completed The Color Project, a program created by Tolerance Minnesota. The Color Project fostered discussions about race, skin color, stereotypes, and the importance of considering character when choosing friends. The final activity was a major art project in which students and staff painted self-portraits that express their individuality and uniqueness.

Many Richfield High School students and Sheridan Hills parents volunteered with the project. The school plans to display the artwork throughout its building, as well as at district or community events. A celebration event for the school and volunteers is scheduled for Friday, February 5th, as part of "Friday Focus" from 7:45-8:30 AM in the Sheridan Hills Media Center. A special program with video will start at 8:15 AM.
